AN INTRODUCTION TO MISSING LINK
For over over 35 years Missing Link has successfully supported homeless women with complex needs to recover secure and and and sustain housing and and and live live full and and and rewarding lives We are the largest provider of women-only services in in in in in in in Bristol bringing innovation expertise established partnerships and extensive experience of engaging women in in in in in in our wide ranging support services “Having someone on on on the the end of the the phone to to listen to to me/help me me and and and support and and and understand what I was going through made
a a difference to everything ”
We specialise in in in in in working with women who have complex needs including substance misuse offending and and self-harm Our support has a a a a a a a a a a a a a holistic focus looking at health health social care
We provide a a a a a range of housing and support to women who have either acute or or or long term mental health needs We support women who who are homeless sleeping rough or or whose housing is is is at risk because of their mental health issues We also provide a a a a a a a a a a a a direct access service Link House as an alternative to psychiatric admission High and Medium Support Women’s Homelessness Pathway
and and mental health A new women’s homelessness pathway was established in in in in in in October 2017 and and Missing Link is is is working in in in in in close collaboration with key partners St Mungo’s Elim Housing and and Places for People to to take a a a a a a a a a a a a whole pathway approach This is is is to to improve the the experience of of clients moving on on through through the the the various levels of of supported accommodation while optimising support support available to them through through joint working All our support is tailored to to to each woman’s needs and and builds on on their their their their individual strengths to to to help them to to to improve their their their their well-being secure their their their their housing and and sustain their their their their long term recovery New Ways House After being supported here During the year Missing Link offered a a a a a range o of of support services services and housing services services to 867 women To find out out more about these services please call 0117 925 1811 Take up o of of services This is is our our high support 6 6 bedded accommodation service service with with staff on on site 6 6 days a a a a a a a a a a a a week and with with an an an on on call out of of of hours service service The aim of of of New Ways is is to to to to provide a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a higher level of of of support to to to to help women access and and engage with other specialist services and and to to to to to take the the the next steps towards developing the the the necessary skills to to to to move on on successfully into longer term accommodation During their stay women will have a a a a a a a a a flexible outcome focussed support plan including help with substance misuse mental health issues offending building confidence life skills and 93% ofwomensaid Ifeel better about myself
